Year on year, the Post Graduate Programme in Business Administration at the Indo-German Training Centre, Mumbai is escalating and intensifying in popularity among the student community and Indo-German member companies.
Just like every year, this June, IGTC advertised and invited applications from prospective students aspiring for a management career in an Indo-German member company. An Open House and Information Session was held for prospective students and their parents at the training centre on 2nd June 2011 to give them detailed insight into the 18-month, full time programme based on the German Dual System of Training. A Q&A session followed to give clarity on the training companies, internships, placements, general management theory etc. Overall the Open House dispelled all doubts and apprehensions among aspiring candidates, and filled them with enthusiasm to meet and interview with the participating training companies that required trainees for their future organizational requirements.

Ms. Shrishti Sawhney, Head of Marketing Communication, Audi India
It is a unique selection process which gives not only on the job training but also job assurance if the trainee programs will on the job during the training. IGTC provides a common platform for candidates who wish to enter a company or IGCC.
Mr. Avinash SG, Senior Officer Human Resources, Bosch Ltd.
We feel there should be restriction of number of companies a student can attend especially once they have been shortlisted. The program is a good initiative and I have never come across an initiative like this wherein students get a chance to choose companies right at the start of the course program.
Mr. Abhijit Yadav, Associate Vice-President – Europe, Neilsoft Ltd.
Feedback about the Trainee Selection Process from the Applicants
The involvement of the companies like Siemens, Bosch, Audi, Deutsche Bank and many others in the selection process was indeed fascinating. The interviews were conducted by Department Heads / VPs and in some cases the MD himself. The overall interview experience was great. The Director, administration staff and the current students at IGTC were very helpful and approachable.
Yashovardhan Bichu – inducted as a trainee with Bosch Limited
The entire admission process for the IGTC programme was truly a wonderful and memorable experience. At each stage, a lot of painstaking efforts were put in to maintain a positive atmosphere and make all the candidates feel relaxed and focused. The Personal Interview stage was well planned and organised. I had the privilege of being interviewed by multiple companies, each of them being leaders in their respective fields. It was a very interactive session. I was asked questions pertaining to different situations and circumstances in a company, which tested my basic concepts and made me think creatively and originally. This helped me to learn new things as well. I was really impressed seeing the students of the current batch, enthusiastically participate and help out in the interview process. I believe that I can make my dream come true, by looking forward to learn more and strengthening the foundation for my future.
Jason Pereira – inducted as a trainee with Audi India
A never before, fantastic opportunity to interact with delegates from German MNCs before commencement of the 18 month PGPBA course is the USP of the IGTC admission process. I had the privilege of being part of a well organized, well co-ordinated PI process and being interviewed by five companies which not only gave me an insight into how employable or marketable I am, given my educational qualifications till date, but also in which areas I need to improve upon to meet the expectations of the company management and what should be my area of focus during the six months internship stint at the company I would be selected in. Finally, the icing on the cake, was the news of being short listed by three companies out of five and the company, I was really keen on, being one of them. All in all, the IGTC PI experience has been wonderful, one to cherish for a very long time.
Prakash Iyer – inducted as a trainee with BASF Group
The PI process at IGTC is really unique and one of its kind, this selection process insures that the students entering the program are industry preferred, this instills confidence in the students. The PI process gives the candidate the insight of his or her future with one of the esteemed companies, helping them work positively towards there goal.
