Working GlobeSmart - Global People Skills and Competencies: November 18 - 19, 2010

Objective: In the new economy almost all jobs are global in scope. As a consequence global expertise is becoming essential for effective performance in organizations. The number of diverse people involved with business becoming global and with the advent of virtual teams, Global People Skills have become a necessity at all levels. The greatest cause of difficulties in Global Business transactions emerge out of a lack of global skills and competencies and not out of a lack of technical expertise, hard work or good intentions. The workshop is based on the model developed by Dr. Ernest Gundling. It will help people appreciate the complexities of working in a global environment and offers opportunities for practical skill development for participating and succeeding in global teams. The workshop is designed in three modules to develop global people skills at individual, group and organizational levels. The development of these skills in a comprehensive manner will help both organizations and individuals build a significant source of competitive advantage.

Workshop Facilitator: Dr. Asha Naik is a Graduate in Economics and has done her Post Graduate Program from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. She has a PhD in Business Management from the Osmania University. She has several years of corporate experience where she has been the Head – Human Resources at Fujitsu ICIM, RPG Group and the Global Head – Human Resources at Tata Technologies, Tata Group. She has also worked at the Centre for organization Development where she provided consulting and training support to organizations. Her areas of expertise are Sustainable Leadership, Organization and Individual Behavior, Human Resource Strategy Process and Practices, Global Work Practices and People Skills
