OBJECTIVE
The objective of this course is to familiarize participants with basic financial and managerial accounting concepts. Many successful organizations manage the integration of Business Goals with Financial Goals, hence finance has become the language of business. As executives and managers move up to assume higher responsibilities, knowledge of business finance becomes essential to their growth. This workshop will provide the participants with the conceptual base of topics commonly faced by non – finance executives which will help them to apply the concepts comfortably and effectively and relate the same to their respective functional areas.

SESSION DETAILS 

  • Overview of Profit & Loss account and Balance Sheet with special reference to familiarization of basic concepts like Income & Expenses, Assets & Liabilities.
  • Using Annual Report to evaluate competitors/vendors.
  • Understanding the concepts of Depreciation and Fixed Assets Expansion, Book Profit and Taxable Profits.
  • Performance Evaluation through Ratio Analysis – Evaluation of Functions and Overall Evaluation.
  • Costing Concepts – Fixed Costs and Variable Costs.
  • Application of Marginal Costing Pricing Decision, Accepting New Order.
  • Working Capital Management – concept and quantification of operating cycle.
  • Project Evaluation - Payback period and Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) – NPV/IRR
  • Break – Even Analysis and its application for decision making.

TRAINER PROFILE 
Mr. S. M. Fakih has done his Masters in Financial Management from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management and is a diploma holder in Operations Research from the Mumbai University. He is working in a large multi-national company in India and is currently in-charge of strategy development. He has earlier worked in functions of product management, logistics and SAP implementation. Mr. Fakih has been instrumental in providing management training to the employees of the Aditya Birla group of companies, Raymonds and M&M to mention a few. He is a visiting faculty at various management institutes in the areas of Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Financial Management, Mergers & Acquisitions.
